Please help the Grand Canyon Trust convince the Flagstaff City Council to adopt a resolution opposing uranium mining near Grand Canyon National Park by attending the Council meeting and speaking in favor of the resolution.

These mine sites threaten the Havasupai Tribes watershed and it is near Red Butte, a sacred site in the Havasupai creation story.

Longtime Havasupai leader Rex Tilousi, said, "'Red Butte is the lungs of our Grandmother Canyon.' My people have used these traditional Havasupai religious areas for centuries. Instead of allowing the destruction of our national treasure, we are asking the federal government to work with the Havasupai Tribe to protect Red Butte and all of the lands on and around the Grand Canyon from further mining activities. This natural wonder is irreplaceable and demands our shared action and protection for those living now, and those yet to be born,"

If you ever seen or had the pleasure of hiking the Grand Canyon, and like many others feel truly blessed to be able to spend so much time in such an amazing place with so many wonderful sites to see, please help speak out against uranium mining near the Grand Canyon! Thank you.
